In this project, much of the work involved creating more fluidity of movement between the various spaces of the house. Interventions in the form of appropriately sized, carefully placed openings introduced a modern fluidity between the spaces.
Focus is shifted to the back of the house. The transformation of some of the windows at the back into full height doors, an extension that is contiguous with a wooden-decked and clad back garden, all have the dual functions of maximizing the natural light and creating an unhindered flow of movement between inside and out.
The extensive use of glass in multi-layers accentuates the contemporary feel of the house as it slips into its new role as a modern family home.
